Grandmas who are being the church!
Myrna Weaver is one of the five original grandmothers in Lubbock, TX who not ONLY pray but also put their grandma boots and shoes to the ground! The original group of five praying grandmas found out that a major abortion clinic and organization was trying to set up shop in their city! They said NO!
Even after being shut down the first round, it did not stop these grandmas from finishing the mission they had in their hearts to do! They organized. They collected signatures. They gathered money and put up build boards. They fought! Through their fearless efforts they were able to stop this organization from coming in to God’s Golden City, as they call it.
Through their efforts, these projects and other groups were also created and organized and influencing their area and even other states:
Project Destiny, the “For Life” campaign, The New Era Prayer Group, Texas Heartbeat Act, the Sanctuary City Ordinance for the unborn, Circle Up School Prayer groups, zoom classes on how to take a stand, school chaplains, detention center Bible studies, homes for single women and moms, help for pregnant women, help for the men involved in the pregnancy, adoption help and funding, billboards put up, workshops about advancing the Kingdom of God in the marketplace, and more! They haven’t stopped here though! They are now taking on the school and public libraries in the city! They plan to stop sexually perverted books and indoctrination from being allowed to come into the hands of their children! Now, the original group of five praying and action-taking grandmas has turned into eight who are all taking the ball and running! What examples and encouragement they have given all of us! No rocking chair for these grandmas! In Myrna’s book, “A Journey to the Golden City of God” she explains what they did. This is a road map for anyone who wants to influence their city and bring in the Kingdom of God.
