God has called each of us to have influence in one (or more) areas of society. Do you know what yours is?
It’s Time to be Influencers
The Church is to be the influencers, not the influenced! We are called to engage, not isolate. Be proactive and not complacent.
Believers are the Church of Jesus Christ and the vehicle that Jesus chose to use to influence the direction culture should go. When believers do not allow their Christian authority and the Word of God to drive culture, the world will step into the driver’s seat and take culture wherever it wants.
Christians are mandated to go out into ALL the world (their mountain of influence) and not only stay in the four walls of the church building. We Christians are the salt that brings healing to hurting people, but if we lose our flavor and power, people will never be healed or set free—that makes us worthless in society. The Bible calls this being trampled underfoot by men (Matthew 5:13).
As Christians we are the light that is supposed to lead people toward the goodness of God and His good way of doing things, but if our light is confined within the four walls of a church building, what good is that light? Christians who know who they are IN CHRIST, who will use the truth of God’s Word and the authority they have been given by Jesus, should get into the driver’s seat and be the ones who drive culture in the right direction. If culture is going in the right direction, we will experience abundant life and not a decline of Biblical morals or corruption in these areas of influence.

Government
Take Biblical Truth into government and politics. VOTE according to the Bible!
Creative Arts
Look to the One who created you for your creativity and use it to promote Biblical Truth!
Education
They really do want to hear the Truth you know!
Business / Marketplace
Go prosper and use it to express God’s love to people!
The Church
Gather together and take God’s love outside the four walls of the church building. Be the Church!
Media
Use your voice and message to speak Truth in society.
Family
Disciple the next generation in your own family! Disciple them in the Truth of God’s Word.

Be the Church
In Acts 26:15-18 (NLT) we read the conversation between Paul (Saul at that time) and Jesus. We can apply this same commission to our Christian lives and our area of influence, which is our own mission field.
“‘Who are you, lord?’ I asked. ‘And the Lord replied, ‘I am Jesus, the one you are persecuting. Now get to your feet! For I have appeared to you to appoint you as my servant and witness. Tell people that you have seen me, and tell them what I will show you in the future. And I will rescue you from both your own people and the Gentiles. Yes, I am sending you to the Gentiles to open their eyes, so they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God. Then they will receive forgiveness for their sins and be given a place among God’s people, who are set apart by faith in me.‘”
One of the main purposes of the Church is to come against principalities and expose darkness. We do that through presenting the truth of God’s Word in love which will remove the blindness that the enemy holds over the eyes. The church is called salt and light. We as believers bring that salt and light to bring healing and understanding and deliverance.
Your marriage, family, community, and workforce need to have the Kingdom of God displayed and intentionally activated by you. God will lead you into and open doors to whatever you are willing to do. Your purpose matters in these areas!
